Inspired by the charm of small Japanese sweets, the designs
of “a-dorn” jewelry are infused with the kitsch and graphical
worlds of the artist. Organic motifs such as flowers and birds
are gracefully garnished with precious stones, holding anyone
who wears it spellbound. Our wish for “a-dorn” jewelry is for it
to be put on as wearable art in everyday life, just as you would
naturally wear perfume.

和菓子の小さな美にインスパイアされ、作家自身の持つグラフィ
カルかつキッチュな世界感が融合された”a-dorn”のジュエリー。
花や鳥などのオーガニックなモチーフに小さな宝石をあしらった
ジュエリーは、身に付ける者を魅了してやまない。身に付けら
れるアート(Weareable Art)を普段の生活でさりげなく香水を
付けるように付けてもらいたい。

adornとは、英語で “飾る”、”魅力的にする”という意味を持つ。

 

 

Designer: Akane Kodani

Akane Kodani is a graphic artist in New York. While studying graphic
designat the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), she meets artists
Ryan McGinness and Takeshi Kawashima and starts as their
assistant, delving into the world of New York design and art.
After graduating, she has been vigorously active in variousfields as
graphic designer and as participant of illustration group shows.
In 2007, Akane meets jewelry designer David Benlolo, and as a
new project, establishes her jewelry line “a-dorn”.

ニューヨークで活躍するクリエーター。ニューヨークのファッション
工科大学(FIT)でグラフィックデザインを学ぶ。在学中にアーティスト
のRyan McGinnessと川島猛に出会い、アシスタントをスタート。
ニューヨークのデザインとアートを叩き込まれる。卒業後、
グラフィックデザイナーとして活躍するかたわら、イラストの
グループ展 に参加するなど、精力的に多方面で活躍中。2007年、
ジュエリーデザイナーDavid Benloloと出会い、新しいプロジェクト
としてジュエリーライン”a-dorn”を立ち上げる。
